Betty Monsour, who acted as President of the 20th World Congress of Epidemiology held in August 2014 in Anchorage, Alaska, passed away earlier this month after a long battle with cancer. All of us who worked with her since 2008, when Alaska was chosen to host the WCE, are deeply appreciative of her energy, enthusiasm and good will in organizing a highly successful conference. Our thoughts are with Betty’s family and colleagues from the University of Alaska.
