Meeting

the
 SEE
 will
 be
 special
 as it
 always 
is
 when
 the
 call 
for a
 meeting 
is
 made
 together
 with
 SESPAS,
 and
 particularly
 when
 it
 is
 going
 to
 be
 held
 in
 a
 city
 like
 Granada.

This
 time
 additional
 circumstances
 will
 make
 it
 more
 interesting
 as
 the
 Portuguese
 epidemiologists
 are
 joining
 us
 to
 hold
 their
 Annual
 Epidemiology 
Meeting
 with
 the
 collaboration
 of
 the
 IEA
 and
 the
 Latin
 American
 Alliance
 of
 Epidemiology
 and
 Public
 Health.
 The
 Congress
 motto:
 “Science
 and
 practice
 of
 Health
 policies:
 the
 intelligence
 of
 Public
 Health”
 encourages
 a
 scientific
 contribution
 committed
 to
 the
 population
 undergoing 
the 
present
 crisis.

In
 Granada,
 from
 3rd
 to
 6th
 September
 we
 aim
 to
 put
 forward
 proposals
 for
 effective
 public
 health
 policies.
 There
 is
 no
 doubt
 that
 a
 good
 scientific
 basis
 is
 necessary,
 but
 we
 also
 need
 good
 standards
 for
 a
 good
 practice
 of
 public
 health,
 suitable
 analysis
 of
 the 
social
 determinants 
of
 global 
health 
and
 their 
influence 
at all 
levels.
Of course,
we
 need
 to
 create
 new
 ideas,
 which
 contribute
 to
 the
 intellectual
 debate
 about
 the
 essential
 social
 and
 democratic
 organization
 necessary
 for
 maintaining
 and
 improving
 the
health
of
the
population.
